We Bought a Tesla — Part 2
or You got it home already?!
In part 1, we talked a bit about how we arrived at the decision to buy a Tesla Model 3 and what the buying process was like. Well, we took delivery of our Tesla, so part 2 will be about our journey to pick up the car, getting the car home and our initial experiences showing the car to family and their reactions.
Picking the car up… was a journey?!
During the purchasing process, we knew we would have to travel to get the car. What we didn’t realize was that Tesla’s sold to Oklahoman’s have to be picked up in Kansas City. Well, Overland Park to be exact. We mapped this out and the drive looked very easy. It was a straight shot up I-35 and over to Overland Park. I had planned for a 5 hour trip plus a few stops, but we made the journey in just over 4.5 hours.
First lesson learned. We had initially planned to book a one way rental car and initially, it seemed as everything was ok. Upon reviewing my rental, the rental car company had shifted the car from “Pick up in OKC and Drop off in Overland Park to” to “Pick up in…
