Writing on Medium — What’s Next?

I began writing in late 2021 for a variety of reasons. First, I wanted to exercise my brain, secondly I wanted to practice writing and finally, I was wanting to generate some good habits.

Now that 2022 is nearly in the books and my blog space has existed for about a year, I thought a retrospective might be a good idea. I also thought I would take a minute to discuss what has happened and what is next for me.

The Blog — Mission Accomplished, Mostly

As I said, I wanted to use this blog as an opportunity to exercise my brain. I feel that writing on Medium did a great job providing that opportunity. I learned a lot while I was writing regularly.

Over the first few months, I learned a bit about what brought readers in, how to identify hot topics and I even learned a bit about building an audience. I was able to quickly get my 100 followers. The 100 followers thing was something I dreaded and thought would take months, if I could get it done at all. Instead, I read what others had done previously and managed to overcome that obstacle very quickly. I’m going to give myself and Medium an A+ here.
