Writing a Book — Inside my head
or “I can dream can’t I?”
I’m writing a novel, but it’s stuck in my head. I’ve been telling this story to myself. It’s a guess, but I imagine many writers go through this phase.
I grew up loving the works of Tolkien, Feist, and Eddings. I spent my teen years devouring comics and walking through school with a book stuffed in my back pocket. I was a bit ashamed quite honestly to be seen with whatever I was reading, it was a different time and I went to a very small rural high school. I remember when I first read Eye of the World and kept that giant book in my coat, but reading in the halls during lunch and hustling from class to class to squeeze in a few extra minutes of reading.
What Type of Story
So my idea is in the superhero fiction genre. This isn’t the most popular thing, but this is the story that has popped into my head. I have a general outline of the story I want to tell, I even know how it will end.
Many questions have occurred to me since the inception of this story.
But Where Would it Be?
I am from a place most would consider very uncool. If you don’t know a place, it seems more complicated to tell a story in that setting. I don’t want to manufacturer a setting yet, that seems beyond…
